Our Staff
All our security personnel are certified and licenced through the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General. Furthermore, all BlackStar employees maintain their security licence within our organization by keeping in compliance with the Security Programs Act.
Personnel Selection & Retention
We apply traditional recruiting practices, which attracts quality applicants from diverse fields, through colleges, employee referrals, seminars, advertising, and reputation. In order to be considered for employment, all applicants must meet a certain criteria which includes possessing a valid security licence. We carefully vet all resumés and applications of each prospective employee. Only those who reflect and demonstrate a desire for a career in security or law enforcement are invited to participate in our personal interview process. The initial interview will enable us to assess the applicant’s general intelligence, common sense, decision-making abilities, personal appearance and character. Once the reference checks are complete and careful consideration is made, will we then hire the appropriate applicants who we feel that can make a positive contribution within our organization.
We place a high importance on supervisory and management involvement. We believe from promoting within to maintain client site continuity. We also recognize the importance of giving all employees the opportunity to advance through promotion. We firmly believe that our success in the field is directly related to the significant amount of training and mentoring that starts from our Management Team right through the ranks of our Security Officers.
